What you can expect
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of complex data pipelines and cloud architectures using the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You will design scalable data lakes and data warehouses/lakehouses and ensure that hybrid platforms are also operated efficiently and in a future-proof manner.
Your day-to-day work will be anything but standard: Sometimes you will manage demanding end-to-end integrations with Python, SQL, Spark, or Databricks LakeFlow and put DevOps principles into practice with CI/CD, test automation, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). In addition, you will provide our customers with data strategies or develop blueprint approaches in data engineering by leveraging the full potential of modern D&A platforms.
At sumIT, you will benefit from an outstanding corporate culture with exciting boot camps, knowledge-sharing formats, and weekly office days for mutual exchange. Competitive salaries and performance-related bonuses are just as much a matter of course for us as attractive pension contributions and working with the latest hardware.
Qualification
You have a university degree in computer science or a scientific subject such as computer science, mathematics, or comparable training. As a Senior Data Engineer for Databricks, you have experience in the development and operation of cloud data and analytics solutions and are confident in using data management platforms and architectures. You have at least Databricks Data Engineer Professional certification and your strengths include data modeling and data warehousing with in-depth knowledge of data management and database architectures, especially in the Databricks Lakehouse environment. You have many years of experience in creating data pipelines with Databricks and are familiar with the services on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
You have practical experience in implementing and optimizing ETL and data management processes with Databricks, and you know how to implement data governance and data quality with Unity Catalog.
You have the ability to support data-driven decision-making and can analyze data accordingly and interpret results professionally and accurately.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud-based platforms, and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Spark is also desirable. Skills such as working in dynamic teams and being a team player are mandatory for us, as this is our culture and DNA.
Personals
You are not only a doer, but also a leader. You manage project teams, work in interdisciplinary teams, keep an eye on budgets and timelines, and empower your colleagues through coaching, code reviews, and best practices. In this way, you create structures that work—both for successful customer projects and for the further development of our teams.
